Morgan Cormier

Morgan Cormier began his training in organic synthesis at the University of Lorraine. He then obtained a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Rouen, carried out at the COBRA laboratory under the supervision of Drs Michaël De Paolis and Jacques Maddaluno. During his doctoral studies, his research focused on the synthetic study of a natural product, tridachiapyrone B, as well as on methodological developments in polar organometallic chemistry. He subsequently completed a first postdoctoral fellowship at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (Haifa) in the group of Professor Ilan Marek, followed by a second postdoctoral appointment at the Institute of Molecular Sciences (ISM) in Bordeaux within the group of Professor Éric Fouquet and Dr Philippe Hermange. In 2018, he was appointed Associate Professor at the University of Haute-Alsace (UHA), where he teaches at the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Mulhouse (ENSCMu) and conducts his research at the Laboratory of Molecular Innovation and Applications (LIMA). He is a member of the Radical Chemistry, Heterocycles and Interfaces (CRHI), team led by Professor Jean-Philippe Goddard and obtained his Habilitation (HDR) in 2024 at UHA. His research interests focus on the development of new photocatalytic systems applied to organic synthesis, including homogeneous and heterogeneous photocatalysis, near-infrared photocatalysis, and the development of photoclick reactions.
